Hello, I finally found time to test the super software from Christophe Jacquet RDSSurveyvor! I built a small interface to adapt the output of my Sony RDS decoder SB-920 to my PC sound card. Once completed and connected inside the tuner I plugged the audio cable with jack 3.5 to the line input of my sound card. It works equally well under windows, linux or macosx, why you need is Java installed.

-inaudio Use sound card audio as input
-inbinfile <file> Use the given binary file as input
-inbinstrfile <file> Use the given binary string file as input
-inaudiofile <file> Use the given audio file as input
-ingrouphexfile <file> Use the given group-level file as input
-inv4l <device> Reads from Video4Linux device, e.g. /dev/radio
-invert / -noinvert Force bit inversion (default: auto-detect
-outbinfile <file> Write bitstream to binary file (if applicable)
-outgrouphexfile <file> Write groups to file (in hexadecimal)
-nogui Do not show the graphical user interface
-noconsole No console analysis
In my case I choose
java -jar rdssurveyor-0.6.jar -inaudio (The program selected by default the first sound card.)
If all are ok you can see the gui software:

Functions are very basic for this moment, I ask Christophe to have more functions and possibilities.
When you launch the softare a log fil is create in my case rdslog_20100615_221006.rds
You download this file and play again in Rds surveyvor by the command :
java -jar rdssurveyor-0.6.jar -inbinfile rdslog_20100615_221006.rds

- For me the best advantage of this software is that it is « open source ».
- The interface between the receiver and your computer is very simple to do.
- A big advantage is that it can run on any system (win, linux, mac …)
- No need to have serial port! You can use your software on your notebook, netbook … no need to have an old DOS laptop
- You can replay your reception with log file system. Ideal for meteor-scatter.
- You can decode multiple RDS feed if you have mutliple sound card !
Conclusion
I found the software very well done and above all very slight. I compare PI decoding with SB920 tuner, the software is quick faster to decode it. I prepared a list of feature request to make the software useful for every self-respecting dxer:)
